| Title | Current Multidisciplinary Approaches to Deciphering the East and Southeast Asian Palaeoanthropological Record |
| Commission | HaB |
| Description | Compared to the western Old World, the palaeoanthropological record of East and Southeast Asia is still relatively poorly known. For example, the nature of hominin morphological and behavioral variation in fluctuating Quaternary environments is only now becoming better known. This session presents papers from scientists involved in multidisciplinary research projects in East and Southeast Asia. A synthesis of the current state of research in these different regions will be developed, with emphasis on understanding how a varying palaeoenvironment influenced hominin evolution. |
